Hot upper abdomen?

All of a sudden, my upper abdomen, between my belly button and my bra line, is hot. It feels hot on the inside and the outside. Very weird feeling.

No pain. A few loud belly sounds but nothing I haven't heard before.

Has anyone experienced this?

I have a call in to my doctor.

3 hours later, I started hearing belly sounds again and passed some gas. I think my body just stopped digesting for a few hours. Not happy about that.

Is this a sign of something?

I had something sort of similar a few weeks ago but it wasn't hot on the outside and it was EXTREMELY painful. It literally felt like lava was going through my intestine. It was right when I woke up so I popped my prednisone and then took some tums. I went back to sleep and when I woke up the next time it was gone. Not sure if it was the pred or the tums but I was glad to be rid of it.

When is it happening? Is it after you eat, when you wake up, etc? Is it on one side or both or right in the middle?

Hi Caitie-it's happening exactly 1 hour and 20 minutes after I eat.

In fact, it happened again tonight, after dinner, and my husband was home so he confirmed that my belly was hot on the outside.

Good to know I'm not crazy.

No pain, fortunately. I'm barely eating anyway because of the flare so there should be plenty of room for the food to move through.

I wonder if not eating enough is slowing things down? I've lost 13 lbs. in 20 days because I'm barely eating.

I'm going to have nightmares about toxic mega colon and bowel obstructions.
