Good UC Dr. Needed in Pittsburgh, Pa area

Hello:

I have had it with my current doctor - doesn't listen, patient load too great. No doubt he knows his stuff and orders all the right tests and stuff, and his nurse is great, but he is abrupt, doesn't listen and we just do not see eye to eye.   I need to find a new doctor in the area of Pittsburgh, Pa.  After 2 1/2 years and many drugs (apriso, balazide, canasa, 6mp, remicade) making no progress - probably getting worse UC - ranging from left sided to whole colon.  Not that it is his fault, but I want to know why he is making the decisions he is and I want to have some say in the matter, such as when I think a drug is not working. 

I would like to find someone who actualy listens to you and explains things, and takes the time with you.  Any suggestions are welcome.  If you are not comfortable posting in public, you could private message me.  One name I got from elsewhere was Dr. Regueiro, UPMC.

i think i've seen them all!!!

my good friend, who has crohn's, see's dr. reguiero. dr. reguiero is at the practice i go to, but i see dr. binion. dr. binion always says he isn't taking new patients, but i just got a friend into see him and she's from west virginia. he has decided to take her on as a patient. i also saw dr. schwartz when i was in the hospital and he's a great doctor, too. they are all in the UPMC presby hospital digestive health center on the third floor.

i was a patient of dr. lebovitz at allegheny general but he is a total know it all and jerk to be honest. just makes you feel like crap when you see him.

another great doctor is dr. ian mcgowen at magee hospital UPMC. he was the first GI i saw but was only in the office once a week. he is an irish fox!!! great accent haha

i've seen about 4 other doctors and you can message me if you want their names, too.

I was recently referred to dr. Farhald Ismail-begi by a friend.. I have not gone to see him, but heard good things. Banana girl do you have any experience with him?

UCandME Just wanted to say a very belated thank you.  Somehow I missed your response to my question way back when.  Just saw it as I was going over older posts. I guess I was so upset at the time and more or less doing a lot of ranting out of frustration.  Will keep the name as I will probably change docs eventually.
