balsalazide vs. sulfasalazine

Can anyone tell me if they have gotten better results with balsalazide than sulfasalazine. I have been on sulfasalzine for years and it is not working anymore. I see that balsalazide in also inexpensive, as I currently do not have insurance. I just need to try something until I am insured again in January.

balsalazide works better for the lower colon/rectum…sulfasalzine works well only when people can TOLERATE it

My name is Chetan and I have been diagnosed with Ulceritive colitis since an year. I was hospitalized recently and my flare up was bad and was going bowel 4 times a day. They had to give me hydrocortisone steriods through my veins, I am discharged with 1 and a half months of prednisolone to taper it off. I was earlier tried on Azithioprine and 6 MP both for 2 weeks. Azithioprine and 6 MP gave reactions so doctors have stopped both. I am now on Pentasa and prednisolone. I have a review again with my doctors in 2 weeks time to see what long term medication I will need. I am hepatitis B+ so medicines have to be monitored carefully. I have had 2 bad flares in last 1 yr. I want to try Harish Verma's ayurvedic medicine but wanted a honest advice from someone who has tried it? Is it worth taking? Has it helped you even 1 percent? Any side effects? I just want to make sure it is of some use. Have you seen long term improvements? I am 29 yrs male based in UK, Manchester but originally from India.
