OT - Foodopoly, take the quiz

I scored 5 out of 10 but some of my answers were educated guesses. Not buying much by way of processed foods leaves me a big out of the loop.

I also scored four. It's hard not to feel doom and gloom about our food supply.

The best I can do is to shop local when I can and talk about it with my kids

I got 4 right as well and those were guesses.

I scored 8 out of 10. One was educated guess. Was very surprised about Trader Joe's criticism. But I strongly feel, it was uncalled for. Wal-Mart is no saint and TJ's products are one of the less tainted ones. I will still shop at TJ's (and they do reveal where their stuff is sourced from. I find it on majority of packages).

I know a lot of the more expensive brands of items are often the same company making the generics or store brands. Some of them have been tested and found that there is no difference in quality between the higher costing brand names and the generics of those same companies. They can or bag or box one item and sell it for the highest price for those customers wanting the best quality and then do the same with the very same product for the generics and charge a lot less so, in effect, they get the business from both ends of the spectrum with the very same product. That's not true for everything though. There are still many items where the generics or store brands really do have inferior product.
