We moved in May, went on vacation in June, then July, then September so needless to say we've been playing catch up with everything! We haven't had the money to do any shopping yet so I'm doing a mad dash on the 20th. My gut is feeling the crunch :( luckily I have my Remi infusion on the 23rd (it was supposed to have been on the 25th but I was NOT going to do that on Christmas!).
How about
you all? Do you tend to feel a bit more stressed this time of year?

I am very stressed. Busy at work, exhausted as always, have no plans for the holiday and also haven't bought any gifts for anyone, lol. I know it's not funny, it's dire, but then I think, I am spending the holidays alone, am I really obligated? I know I have a few inescapable obligations, hopefully not too many because I am out of time.

You are not alone! I am very stressed, too. I have to fly with a one year old. I have already flown with him 5 round trips and he has screamed on almost every flight! I hope now that he is a little older it won't be as bad. I am dreading the flight. And, we are staying with my family for the first week. It will be fun but we will be very busy. No time for relaxing. Then, I have to stay with my in-laws the second week. And right now I HATE my mother in law. I am already losing sleep just thinking about
it. Blah. When did the holidays become so stressful?

Not only the stress, but also all of the tasty non UC friendly foods to try to pass up

No, but DS has finals and I am about
to dieeeeee from that stress!
I put out the ceramic tree instead of the big one. I am making
cookies for DS's extended family. He got his gift in November. DH picked his from Amazon and it is already here. No big deal this year.
DS is leaving on Friday. Just need to get through these three days of finals. Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh!
Then vacation 1/1 - 1/6 :-D

My side of the family is not that close...we see each other once a year at Xmas eve but there is just my brothers, my dad, gma, an aunt, uncle and nephew. I really do not like going over there...at all! My side of the family is highly dysfunctional to say the least!
But my hubby's family is very tight knit. I have 9 nieces and nephews, sis inlaws, broinlaws, MIL, FIL, uncles, aunts oh and 1 great niece....and they all buy for us so I feel the need to get them something as well. I feel that one uncle in particular needs something extra special because he took my daughters senior pics for free! It would be nice if they did a secret Santa but it's been this way for years. I mean it's not all bad, I have a lot of fun on Christmas but getting there is the big stress factor factor for me. Always has been. This year is more stressful because of the last minute thing....not to mention having to wrap it all!
I'm actually envious of people that don't have a lot going on for Christmas!

Its times like Christmas that I am greatful I am not close with family! I buy very few gifts and only put up a little tree.
I do have some cooking/baking/cleaning to do, as I love having friends and my brother over during the weekend and xmas eve/day.... but, if my UC wont let me... we'll order takeout and pretend the floors are polished :P
My xmas secret is that I get most gifts in advance. Write them down, then this past week I double checked if anyone needed more. Then one trip to Kohls finishes it all up. When all else fails; gift cards. Giving an "experience" to a nice restaurant or the movies is a good gift :)

I see I'm not alone with my stress.
Working retail 10 hr. shifts 52 hrs. this week. Such a great opportunity for extra money to buy the good probiotics, a few gifts and groceries but honestly don't think I'll make it. So run down today.
Really only buying for my sons and their girlfriends, so if I can't do it I know they'll understand. Gotta stop stressing. Take out actually sounds nice then maybe go see a movie.

I'm doing good with my xmas stress levels so far; I've been pretty mellow. Luckily, my sweet wife has been handling pretty much all of the gift shopping. So, all I gotta do is get gifts for her which is within my means. The xmas festivities are only about
a 20 minute drive away, and my uc has been very well behaved of late.

This is the most stressful time of year for me and my family. Our work schedules are brutal. My husband and I ae both classical musicians (he plays in a major US orchestra) and I usually play all of their holiday concerts as well even though my primary job is a professor of music. Last weekend we had 5 concerts in three days. We barely saw the boys this past weekend. That said, my grades are all done and entered, I played my last holiday concerts this weekend and DH only has 1 more this week and 1 on Christmas Eve.
We started our shopping for the boys yesterday, although a lot of it was on amazon! I have to get gifts for the kids teachers and bus drivers today, and ship things out to my sister on the west coast as well.
Did I mention that my older son has a book report due tomorrow and a big science project due Friday? Stress, what stress?!
