Well, 5 days after my last remicade infusion my arm started to swell and hurt. I tried using heat and it only got worse.

Told my Gi and she ordered a scan. They found a deep clot and now I'm on blood thinners for i don't know how long.  I have to give myself a shot in the stomach for the next seven days and also take Warfarin for an unknown time.

Anyone else have to go through this?  The remicade was just starting to work for me. I hope this is not going to set me back.  Would love some feedback.

Yes, we have had other members have blood clots. I know aguywithuc had one but recently, another member was going through something similar to what you describe. I can't remember the name, sorry.

I didn't have a blood clot from a Remi infusion, but I did have blood clots for a super long hospital stay in which I was immobile. I ended up having to go with injections every day for three months.

I believe it was Scum1 who had this issue in his legs over Christmas and was hospitalized. :/

Im sorry you have to deal with this now on top of everything else.

I just had my labs drawn this morning for a Pulmonary Embolism (blood clot in the lungs) because I have had chest pain, difficulty breathing, and decreased exercise tolerance.

I'm hoping I can still stay on schedule with my remicade treatments. It's the only thing helping me.

anyone with clots still taking remicade?

There is a connection between UC and clots, but I haven't heard Remi is a culprit. Someone else might know, but I don't think it should impact your infusion schedule. Ck. with your GI, of course.

Oh wow, this is so scary to hear that now another member has a DVT.

I have no advice...I sure hope this is resolved quickly with the meds you're on.
