During my height of pooping (15 or more a day) I developed hemroids for the first time in my life. It was a grape sizes bulge that pretty much covered my anus. Once I got on meds and pooping less it shrank down to like a flap of skin that I could feel outside my anus. Well, it's still there. I'm not having diarrhea, I'm not constipated or straining. I poop an average of three times a day, soft, mostly formed stool. Today I could feel the hemmies when I was pooping. While I was wiping I could feel the hemmie, popped up a bit but only maybe pea sized, but I could also feel other bumps that seemed to be inside. What the eff is up with all these hemroids? Should I be doing something to make them go away? My poops not hard! It's mushy, very soft, like any softer and it wouldn't be formed! Is it because three times a day is too many poops???

They sell a product on amazon called Hemmorid its an ice tube you stick up your butt. I have had good luck telling postpartum women to use them. I rec you get two and do them back to back 2 times a day. Lubricate with coconut oil. Some women have had hemmies clear that had been there for years, since earlier births. Ive also had good luck myself.

You may end up with a little skin tag on the outside from previous hemmies. And the one you feel inside is probably just now noticeable cuz you dont have as many UC problems to focus on :P
I suggest just doing a google search for hemorrhoids and seeing what the At Home treatments are. Basically where you are at UC wise and with these hemmies bugging you... id suggest #1 add more fiber in to your diet. I know that sounded weird to me at forst... why would i want harder stools pressing up on the hemmy?? But it doesnt quite work that way :D
Also OTC hemmy suppository contain a vasocontricer to help shrink internal hemmy so you may want to look into that too :)

I had a massive hemorrhoid when pregnant with my second and when my UC started it flared again. Ice is great. As are sitz baths but I still have a large flap of skin even when the rhoid is not "active".

darn, it sounds like I'm stuck with the skin flap at a minimum. I will test out a few home remedies. Sigh, how glamorous.

I asked my dr at my last appointment if there was anything he could do about
the flap and he said he refuses to do anything for hemorrhoids in his UC patients unless they have been in remission for a long time. He will deal with thrombosed ones, however, but flaps like mine are not worth the risk in his view.

Very interesting momto2boys. Did he mention what risk? Or was it just that the constant pooping with UC is likely to bring on more hemorrhoids?

The surgeon who offered to surgically remove mine also offered to eat his shoe if I never got a hemmy again (being a UC patient...)

My dr said that a, it is likely to return and b, he doesn't like "disturbing sensitive tissue". Not what I wanted to hear...

I remember I had a bad hemmie before UC and my doctor really didn't want to do surgery unless absolutely necessary. I think his train of thought was a worry in keeping the surgical wound closed and sterile while going to the bathroom once a day. He also said it would weaken the area forever.

Yuck, not what I wanted to hear...but lots of good points made. I guess a few minor hems and or skin flap is the least of my worries, lol. Not like my butt hole had dreams of being a model on the cover of butts monthly or something
