Finding old posts?

How do you find old posts by a user? I see how you can do the last 10 posts, but is there a way to go back further than that?

I can't even seem to find all old posts that I posted! Searching for "Laughingduck" does not bring up all my posts, unless, someone called me by by username at some point in the thread. Guess I can just try new search terms to find what I am looking for!

I can find all the threads a particular user started by switching the sort order to "started by." It takes a bit of time but it's easy once you know how. I'm sitting on the floor with my iPad and my 10 month old is trying to help, so I'll explain how later!

Posts != threads. People hardly start threads, but they sure do have a lot of posts. I think it's a database query issue - admin has to change the code to remove the 10 post limit and add some modifications. The only other way is to google it, but even then many of the results are fluff since it pulls up the name from users online.

The word is out for more than 2 decades, some 'conveniently' chose to ignore and then again say thanks to Donald Rumsfeld. My dad informed us about 15 years ago, if I remember correctly and honestly, sometimes its not worth giving free advice. People do not respect. Let them hit the ditch, face some hardships, then your advice is worth millions. I mention here many a times about DS having autism. He has made great strides in last 3 years, not by chance, but every waking minute I have spent in searching and figuring out information, made SIGNIFICANT (I can't stress that enough) changes in lifestyle, but when I make some remarks to prospective parents, they don't respect. So now, I do not give free advice. I have nothing to lose, right?

I have mentioned that a few times. Since I am a keyboard jockey, I visit a ton of forums and I see how outdated this forum software is. I mentioned a few times, but there seems little interest from the ones who run this forum. This forum is loaded with information and I hate to see it losing for any reason. Just to post this message I am going to copy and past 3 times, because it does not add next quote to previously typed response, which many other forums do. There is no mobile support to this forum, so once I start my job again in about 6 to 8 months, my visits here are going to reduce a lot (= little less advertising revenue).

Yes the search tool is to be desired here but hey, at least it's a free site :)

I don't speak for others, but I will happily pay if the changes are implemented.

That said, big brother is best method of finding old posts, just search for what you are looking for and big brother will spit out a lot of interesting information, along with healingwell :)
