This doesn't really continue the debate, just more of a sociological observation:

beatUC: You and one or two others decry the use of the term "socialism" when talking about universal healthcare but then say things like the above. I honestly don't see why you run from the term. I would label you a socialist, but not in a pejorative sense. I have friends who are socialists (they don't claim to be, but I call them that in their company). I daresay if you moved to NC you and I could find common ground and be friends despite our radical differences.

I actually to a test on Time.com Tuesday and I was 57% liberal, 43% conservative. The questions were very odd though like preferences of pets, movie types you like etc, anyway...

No, the citizen of the US does not deserve more or less than any citizen of any other country. My American dirt is the same as the German or the Kenyan dirt.

But at the same time neither the sick or Exxon Mobil 'deserve' anyone's tax dollars.

Ummm...I don't get where in the world you get that I listen to Rush Limbaugh. Looks like that's the label 'your' 'side' tells you to label me. I dislike him as much as I do Rachel Maddow.

IMO republicans and democrats are so similar as to be virtually indistinguishable. I'm against the continued existence of the state in all its forms and in its entirety. Period.
