I'm peeing a lot and some discomfort on my back, is it normal?

Good evening, I just started Mesalazine 800 about a week ago but it seems that I'm go to pee a lot more often ever since, almost every two hours I feel like I really have to go and it has no color on it. I also feel discomfort on my lower part of my back, I'm affraid something is wrong with my kidneys. Is this normal?
I'm very new with the whole UC Colitis thing and been learning a lot from this forum I hope someone can help me. Thank you.

Thank you, I already booked and appointment with my Dr. tomorrow. I'm hoping everything goes well :)

Excessive peeing I had when I first got diagnosed... because I was drinking so much water to combat the diarrhea. That's good that your urine is clear!

Hopefully the back pain is just some aches from the UC.

Please keep as posted after your appointment :)

Go to your doctor and get urine and blood testing done.

I just got back from my appointment and he says its not related and might be an infection so I did some urine testing and if there is anything bad he said he would call me. thank you.

Glad to hear it's not U/C related... If they do give you antibiotics, the ones that work best for me as far as Bladder and Kidney infections are either Bactrim DS or Macrobid.... Both of those wouldn't bother my U/C too much.. Cipro is another drug, but that one is a little harsh on my tummy, causing slight nausea... I hope you get it fixed asap :D
