face puffiness with azathioprine?

Just started Azathioprine 250 mg on Jan 6th after tapering down to 1 mg Predisone from 40 mg ,very long taping, anyway been feeling all around off

not quite nausious but on the edge so I am assuming that is the AZA

Question I find my pred pudge (moon face) is not going down the abdomen puffiness either.  I was told that the Aza would not cause the puffiness?  Can anyone let me know.

just wanted to let u kno that the pred side effects (puffy face) "gradually" wears off, not TOO quickly. *sorry*
and I experienced the same sick feeling with the azathioprine so had to switch meds...talk to your doctor before it gets worse.

unfortunately, for some there is a collective affect that can increase the duration of the side effects - meaning the more you're on it, the suckier it gets :-(

moon face takes a while to go away. It's not like you taper off pred and it's gone. It took months for mine to go away. I can't imagine the puffy face has anything to do with aza. It's not a side effect of that drug. It's from the pred. :(

thanks it took me a long time to decide to try this stuff. Quality of life my doc kept saying we can't continue to patch you up yearly with prednisone. yuck. even more fearful of Remicade which is where they want to send me next. Keeping my fingers crossed. but will call my md thanks again.

My moon face went away really quickly, even after months of being on Pred at a time.

Now my torso fat, however... :-/
