Well, had the flex sig today. Prior to being sedated I was speaking with my GI and his intern, he was talking as if we'd see the inflammation gone and likely chalk up the last remaining symptoms (5 normal formed dumps per day) to post infectious ibs, and I'd likely be able to stop the asacol. However, when he came out to see me after my sedation wore off...he was singing a different tune. He said there was 15cm of inflammation in my lower colon still. He said it was less inflamed (I'm guessing deepness of the inflammation (?). Siiiiiigh. I'm to continue the asacol, make an appointment for a month from now to review the results of biopsy and discuss where we go from here. His letter he sent me home with said "I'm concerned about
the possibility of inflammatory bowel disease"
I'm not really closer to a diagnosis of which one...so it seems, but to me it's sounding like my/my GIs hopes of it just being some sort of non chronic colitis are flying out the window
I hope the biopsies are more helpful than last time (last time they showed ischemia and not much else).
