Sure it can make you worse. All IBD'rs are known to have a bacterial imbalance in their guts but the only consistant thing is that every imbalance is different in every person. Sounds like your imbalance doesn't like l-glutamine. Maybe you can research and find the exact opposite of l-glutamine and try that and see what happens. That's why there really isn't a UC diet. One diet helps one person while the same diet makes someone else worse. That's one reason why docs really don't want to get involved with diets, because they would have no idea what diet to tell what patient might help them.
