Pentasa and thrush?

Hi, Before I got UC, sometimes when I ran I would leak a tiny bit of urine, now I have recently noticed its got worse, is this connected to U.C?

Also, and more importantly, I am feeling a bit sore down below and took a Diflucan the other day, in case it was thrush, this morning things still dont seem quite right at all..the problem with this disease is that when something crops up I immediately think its UC related, does Pentasa cause thrush or related problems... confused

No on pentsa causing thrush. Pentsa is a topical anti-inflammatory medication, so I cannot see it causing that.

However, if you were on immunosuppressive meds (6mp, imuran, aza) or perhaps prednisone, then that would be a different scenario. None of those meds cause thrush, but by weaning your immune system's response it makes one more prone to those sorts of things.

Hi, No the only thing I have taken is Pentasa..I am going to make an appointment to see my Gyno, I have had oral lichen planus for years, and I have a horrible feeling, because of the disease it may have moved to another area.

I was reading how Fungus can cause problems with the prostate and the leaking. It may be fungal related and is worth looking into.

This was mentioned by Doug Kaufman on the program (know the cause) and I found it very interesting. He spoke about how the prostate test and elevated levels indicate a presence of fungus in the blood stream which in turn cause this leaking.

Prostate...I'm female :-)

I have taken some Arsenicum Alb..homeopathy treatment for lichen planus, which never ever fails me, and it seems it may be working...I'm feeling a bit better, so I am hopeful.
