Had my follow up GI appointment today. Went over biopsy results from last scope, shows chronic non specific inflammation. GI says its very likely it's ibd, pretty much abandoned all hope of it not being ibd at this point (first scope biopsy just showed inflammation, not chronic and one biopsy spot showed ischemia). He said he's almost positive of an IBD indeterminate diagnosis and is proceeding as that's the case, but he said he won't officially diagnose until he's sure, saying its very hard to get a diagnosis retracted and it'd be on my file forever pretty much. He says he doesn't want to do that until its for sure. So, I guess that makes sense. Now, here's the interesting bit that I didn't know before. My first scope showed inflammation only in the 25cm to 50 cm section of my colon. Now, two months later when this dr did the scope it was only the first 15cm that was inflamed. He said the first dr didn't do biopsies in the first 15cm because visually it was fine and the other are was so severely inflamed. So, now, that part has healed, and it's only in the first 15cm??? Which were previously not showing inflamed...but now showing chronic inflammation two months later. Opinions on that? Also...if the first 15cm weren't showing inflammation is it possible it was microscopic in that area? Cause if not...wouldn't that mean I likely have crohns? I thought the rectum is always involved in UC. Ok, so it's involved now, but it wasn't on first scope, that's confusing.
