Strange new symptom

I experienced something similar, though it was due to the medications I was taking; both Delzicol and Lialda caused stomach pains that I noticed more on an empty stomach. Drinking water, especially when I was exercising, was always especially uncomfortable.

If it's a sharp pain that appears to be in the vicinity of your stomach then it isn't necessarily associated with UC. Have you been eating normally in these flares or have you ate less but your acids kept at their normal speed? Have you been throwing up bile lately or just throwing up? I had a problem when I was really sick, I didn't have much of an appetite and anything I ate or drank couldn't be held down. So at one point, I believe I had an ulcer in my duodenum (or something along the lines of that) that would cause me immense pain to the point I would rather dehydrate and starve than feel it.
