I take two heaping teaspoons, when I remember, of the plain stuff. I am pretty sure that the recommended amount is much higher to lower cholesterol and control constipation. The jar says a teaspoon. A lot depends on your fiber intact. I eat a high fiber diet except in flares. If you aren't a big fiber user, work up slowly or you will probably get gas, bloating and/or loose stools.
