Ive left the ER with worse.

Not happy to not be admitted, but I guess im okay.

geez. woman. come to pittsburgh. i got admitted for CONSTIPATION because the doctors didn't want me to leave without taking a poop. i was there for 2 days. i guess the GIs here are extra cautious.

Ech! That stinks you had to spend your birthday in pain and at the ER. For what it's worth, happy birthday! I hope you feel better soon.

I was turned away at my hospital here in my home town once - and like you I felt worse after I left and worse when I returned home at night, so my sister called and said to go to the hospital in the next city which was only about 30 mins away. I got there and they admitted me, kept me overnight and I had a GI come and really treat it. From then on I always went to that hospital.

Perhaps you could go to another hospital if you have that option.

Happy birthday though! What a way to spend it - but I'm sure many others on here have spent their birthdays ill as well for what it's worth. I know I have. I used to just re-schedule it for another day, haha.

Im like... uhm, youre managing my pain, keeping me hydrated, watching my vitals. Hell I got help walking to the bathroom and back. Just keep me alive and comfortable until my GI can come in an request a scope or another test or get my remicade going early.

I thought your first infusion was yesterday??

Katie, I'm still upset that you didn't get your Remicade last Monday. I bet with you, you would have felt so much better already. I hate to see you suffer like this. Hang in there girl. Hugs

yeah, I see my GI on Thursday morning. I might try to get into the infusion center after my appointment (see if he can sweet talk me in there) since I now have the day off and they said they'd be ready for me by Thursday.
Was just worried with the scheduling stuff because I have mondays off of work.
But now I don't give a crap, I just want to Remi NOW!

So I just woke up a bit ago. Remember waking up at 7am crying in pain. My husband is so mad that I had to wake up in pain and wait for the pharmacy to open to get relief instead of just being at the hospital and having some meds put in my IV. I remember him bringing me my pill and some Sierra Mist (mmmm) and then I just slept.
So I guess sleeping all day is helpful? sorta?

I mean.. I'm getting my rest.
But now I am awake. And in pain. Hungry and afraid to eat.
Took a nice warm bath and my body appreciated it some.. but my hemmies could care less... def having the doc look at them tomorrow. Lidocaine does basically nothing.

So... i guess it's time for another percocet. Which means more sleep? Or maybe my body will let me stay awake and actually enjoy being pain free.
When I was on the dilaudid in the hospital, at least I could communicate and smile and felt like a real person again.
Now I just feel like a corpse being reanimated painfully each time I wake up.
And then put back to rest by a pill.

I guess this is a better quality of life then crying and writhing in UC and body pains... I guess?

I was like that too, embers. I'm surprised they did not admit you for pain alone, as that was my reason. :( Percocet was prescribed for me in those times as well. I hate the feeling you get once you take a pill, it kicks in almost right away and I feel like I'm falling for a split second before I am numbed. Have you tried getting a water bottle and filling it with hot water for you tummy pains? :( It helped me enough to get through. I hated waking up crying in agony.
