Wash your hands frequently, do NOT touch your eyes or nose, spray Lysol on door knobs, faucet handles, toilet handles etc. Most stores have Saniwipes, so use them on the handle of grocery carts...use a sleeve or tissue when opening public bathroom doors. When leaving a public place wash your hands. But I can not emphasize enough...whatever you do, do not...like I said above, touch your nose or eyes. That is how most viruses are spread. If you need to rub your eyes or nose, use a tissue.
I was on 6mp for about 5 or 6 years...however, I hardly ever got sick during that time. I stopped the 6mp to go on Remicade and it seems that I catch everything. But when I was on 6mp and I did get sick, it did stay around longer than normal.
