Weird side effect or symptom...anyone else have this?

I get deep horizontal dips in my thumbnails/big toenails about the time that I'm flaring.

The ones from last April-May-June are grown out about 75% to the free edge of the nail.

I've noticed that the current growth area is also dipping (in a milder flare)

If the light catches just right, I can see it in my other nails, but they are deep in my thumbs, and big toes, too.

It is minor, but strange.

Any ideas?

The gal that does my pedicures says disease, meds, etc. does weird stuff to our nails.

I read about this, I've always got bend in some nails, although not a dip, the other way around that nails curve over on index and middle finger. Think what you are talking about is "clubbing"? I have read can signify lung problems and celiac?

Nails were looked at closely in medicine before the modern world. Summary of the old beliefs here, probably something in a lot of it

Or maybe this is spooning sorry, not clubbing "Spoon shaped Nails: Iron deficiency; thyroid disease " Would make sense if we were iron deficient in flare
