Anyone had a stress fracture??

I have a stress fracture in my right foot. My primary missed it and I walked around on it for 6 weeks before finally waving the white flag and seeing an orthopedist. I'm in an orthopedic shoe (not a boot) for the next month. I can tell it is slowly helping.

I did a baseline osteoporosis test last year and I was a-ok. All the years of pred use still concerns me. I hope this successfully heals. I enjoy working out and it has been no fun sitting around these last few weeks! My trainer at the gym has started me on a very light workout routine. I am started to overdo it and prolong this healing process even longer.

Anyway just wondering if anyone else had experience w/ this.

I just went to urgent care this morning thinking I had a stress fracture. I had a bunionectomy about 1 1/2 years ago (in my right foot) and I haven't had much issue with it after it healed. But I went for a long walk with my daughter last week and it really hurt the next day so I thought maybe I just tweaked it. I went away this weekend and did a lot of up and down climbing on hills and steps. I could barely walk yesterday due to swelling and pain so I decided to have it checked out.

They did x-rays but didn't find anything but from what I understand, stress fractures can be hard to spot on a typical x-ray. They gave me a shot of Toradol and the pain and swelling is gone. But that may just be a temporary band-aid. I'm hoping that it's just a strain as they suspect and not an actual stress fracture. Mine hurts on the toe next to the big toe, like in the top middle (that is also where all the swelling is). When I press on the bone I feel pain. Where was/is your pain at?

I had a stress fracture in my right foot a few years ago from cross country. Wore a boot for six weeks and havent had another one.
