Mark: Will read what you posted.
Gary's comment that more GSE made him worse is what started me back onto the RIT, while researching GSE
I ran across that excess GSE will become a pro-oxidant,should have saved the link.
Excess of other antioxidants can also do this.
Anyway I started to think if the mechanism of why GSE was making Gary better had to do with killing bacteria, then
more might mean better, but more was not better. So this leads me back to oxidation and the RIT.
Also remember that in early onset UC,we are not dysbiotic.
So what the hell else might be going on.
Excess oxidation,or depletion of antioxidant enzymes,or some blockage,or some self antigen, leading to the destruction of the basement membranes.
Also remember the poor mice get better after the DSS is stopped,we don't after UC onset, so what is different.
I suppose the mice don't normally eat a lot of veggie oils or a lot of salt.
Wesson oil came on the market 1899.
Veggie oils contain lots of double bonds, which are easily oxidized, once some of these fats might be incorporated into our cell membranes then they are more easily oxidized. Combine this with HOCl chlorinated membranes
looking like antigens to the immune system, then we might have a problem.
This might tie into the autoimmune/salt connection, which I posted the other day.

I know I have been through the veggie oil/fish oil/saturated fat theories a million times.
But tying it all together with salt/oxidation/self antigens might now make more sense.
You don't get the excess HOCL unless you have too much peroxide around.
Also in the RIT paper believe he also talks about B6 forming peroxides, couple that with iron fortification
and you might have a mess of excess ROS.
