Problems since having colonoscopy

I had a colonoscopy last week. My doctor said my colon looked pristine, but there was mild activity in the Cecum. She did biopsies in the colon and rectum, which were benign.

Since having the procedure, I have had a lot of foul smelling gas. Within that past few days, I have had cramps and urgency. I have been going to the bathroom at least six times a day. I don’t have diarrhea, just loose stools. Before the colonoscopy I didn't have any of these symptoms.

Does it sound like I am flaring? The prep really made me feel sick, especially the Magnesium Citrate. Is it possible that the prep, combined with the biopsies, could be causing this? Any advice?

Some people do flare after having a scope from the prep while others just have a few days off worsening symptoms and then back to what they were before the scope.

If its already been a week you may want to put a call in to your GI and see what he advises. If you are flaring you want to treat before things really get out of hand.

The prep, biopsies and the procedure can cause more discomfort for up to a week....but yours is increasing, so something's going on.
The biopsies will tell some, hopefully.

I would suggest, at this point, that you do take probiotics if you have any.

How are you eating?

Is your gas only when you're having bms or is it throughout the day?
