that study was CD and not UC, and has not had replication in 7 years since published. This seems to work for some subset of CD patients, along with other medications. The mean remission in 8 patients followed was 20 mo, but they do not say what the shortest remission was. (Unethical statistics.)
It could help. Very few clinical studies, and hard to know. But very expensive, and some risk.
There is only compassionate access if somebody is developing it and headed towards FDA approval. This is developed, so I don't think compassionate access exists.
I think any insurance would require you to try and fail newer biologics first.
