For those who helped in my first post, my own Dr finally spoke to one of the gastro doc's at the hospital and they agreed to put me on Salofalk 3g and put my pred back up to 30mg (or whatever it is!). I am feeling soooooooooo much better, went back to a bland diet again and, today i have managed to eat more than usual \0/
I wanted to know though i have the classic 'moonface' and have broken out in a load of spots. How long will this last for? Will it be when i stop the pred all together or, take a bit longer?
Thanks!

The moon face will never go away while you are taking any significant dose of Pred. It may let up some after a while on very low doses but I think for most it takes a while for it to go away after completely stopping the pred.

Thanks Gary, i feel like a fool but if the pred makes me feel better then its worth it lol. Hopefully it will go in the future!

I assume you know that taking pred long term might be a solution to your UC but it will destroy your body in so many ways that you will eventually wish you had never done it. You would long for the days when all you had to worry about
was UC. Prednisone should never be anything more than a short term solution. My GI doesn't even believe in prescribing it.

Yep i don't want to be on it for too long, it messes with my diabetes too much. I want to get off it ASAP to be honest, it's the first time i have been on it.

I'm trying to get off prednisone too, it sucks. When I was on a high dose of it, the worst side effect it gave me was acid reflux. I never had that before, it scared me. But now it's gone away at a lower dose and I have the bad acne. I found that the acne gets worse as I taper, but once I was at 20mg and below it got a lot better... until I had to up my dose again. -.-
