Waiting, waiting, waiting

Over half prep for colonoscopy gone...... eagerly awaiting the first big urge.

I hate prepping. it's the worst. Next time I am going to ask for whatever is the least volume. the more I have to consume, the worse I do. It always makes me nauseous.

The very first time is definitely the worst, projectile vomiting into my toilet was such a joy!

I'd agree my first one was pretty bad, lol. I remember wanting to throw up and the bathroom I prepped in back in college.

Almost done with this one, prep at least. This one really was cake. Full gallon but for some reason I had no trouble drinking it all. Slight headache. Have to make sure I don't get dehydrated. Did that last time. Lost count of how many this makes now. Hopefully it starts on time tomorrow. 7:30 am. Told them I need to be out of there by 10:30 so I could go on to work, lol.

Done and home. Lady is like "You can't drive, sign or make any decisions today." I was thinking... I am going to drive 30 min to work, sign medical documents for 7 hours and go home. I told them just to use the propofol on me so I wouldn't be groggy.

Colon inflammed throughout. Most friable in sigmoid (where it all started) even the scope caused bleeding. No major ulcerations, just no function out of this dang thing. Lead pipe colon pretty much... no ridges/absorption. Hence why I preach the use of ALOT of fiber I guess since it seems to be only thing that helps form things up for me. Can't imagine how well it would work with a little better colon.

Docs plan, move Humira to once week, keep up on immuran (added it back in several weeks ago), told me remi is still a possibility according to recent research?? Remi worked for long time keeping things tolerable. Last words were about fatigue and how it's been there since my stent on pred 5 years ago. I voiced about my concern on the adrenals and seemed to make him think, so shall see if he tries to address it at all. Still impressed with the doc so far.

what the use of a colon like that then? does it go back to how it was once the inflammation is gone?

Last scope was last spring. Just about a year ago. Not a lot of change since then.

Somedude, really not much use for it as far as I am concerned. It just hangs out down there like a lazy employee not doing their job, lol.

Glad it went smoothly, it sounds like you have to figure out a new course of treatment, maybe some new meds....

If I had the time off I would probably push the surgery. I have pushed the issue more than the docs have.

Surgery is very time consuming and unpredictable. I've spent a total of 37 days in the hospital for my first 2 surgeries plus all the time that I needed for recovery. I have 1 more surgery to go.

I have a supplemental insurance policy like Aflac were they pay me $350 a day when I am in the hospital to help with my bills and time off from work. Otherwise I would have rushed back to work and been miserable.

Having surgery has been the best decision that I've made for my health, it's been difficult but well worth it.
