But you do have to also consider non life threatening side effects too, such as the extreme fatigue for the next few days after infusion and many report being sick more often, sometimes bad sick like as in Mono and other things. That's only a few of the non life threatening side effects. There are several. It's not just about the life threatening ones, which are still possible, albeit fairly low percentages.
This.
Some people are lucky and get few to no side-effects, but other people suffer dreadfully.
Another thing to consider is that biologics have a tendency to stop working eventually: people either build up antibodies to them or they just stop being effective. If that happens, your only choices are to increase the dose or to switch to another biologic.
Personally, I'd choose 2.5mg Pred over a biologic. 10mg Pred I'd say differently, but 2.5mg is a very low dose, well below the amount of cortisol the body naturally produces per day.
