How long after you stop pred do you start to feel better?

I know it can vary greatly from person to person. I'm just curious. Bone and joint pain is awful.

Depends on how you taper.

Last time, I had to taper in 1 mg increments down from 10 mg. That took a month. So by the time I was completely off, a lot was already out of my body. The side effects went away within two weeks of hitting zero. If you taper more quickly, it might take a month for side effects to go away.

It's also possible that pred could put you into adrenal failure which, of course, is not good.
