Anyone else dealing with warts with UC or Crohn's

Hello all, seems as of about six months ago I've been dealing with excessive flat warts on my hands and a few on my feet.

I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis back in mid 2005. Dr. put me on 2 800mg of Asacol three times a day. This put my UC in remission. Unfortunately in 2008 I stopped taking the meds because I switched jobs and insurance and my once Asacol medication went to $300 for one months supply. I also stopped because I felt that I could handle the daily urges to relive myself. My UC did not seem as bad as others.

Fast forward to last summer started feeling slightly crummy and my bowl moments seemed worse. Went to my GI and got back on now called DELZICOL 2 800mg 3 times daily.

However, right before getting back on DELZICOL, the small warts started to appear. Since then they have spread.

Just curious what others have experienced and what they are doing to combat them.

This post has really ironic timing! I actually just had a bunch of my flat warts burned, or i guess frozen off yesterday. I had them all over my legs. I have had them for years on the top of my right thigh and wasn't really sure what they were because they don't look like warts I've had before.
This past year they have started to spread all over my legs. I saw a dermatologist a month ago for a different reason but asked her about them and she confirmed they were flat warts. She actually told me that shaving my legs is what has caused them to spread all over my legs too.
When I was there a month ago she gave me a retin-A cream to use at night to help kill them, it didn't help much so she froze them when I was at her office yesterday. She said that is the only way to really get rid of them and to stop them from spreading….she was thinking about putting me on a different med before she was going to freeze them but decided not to because of my UC.

She thinks I have them and that they spread so much because of my UC and because I'm on Remicade/6mp. It has weakened my immune system and made me susceptible to the warts virus. I think I have had them about as long as I have had UC too

I'd tell your GI or see a dermatologist.

I just developed a painful wart on my thumb. It really gets in the way with grasping things and playing golf. For me, it's probably a consequence of the 6mp.
