Ok, so I had a colonoscopy in May and I just got a lab/pathology bill for 875 bucks. I have good insurance and from what I understand taking biopsies during a colonoscopy is common practice. After the procedure I remember him saying that he took a lot of biopsies and was going to check for some virus. If he was going to run extremely expensive tests, shouldn't he of said something. I have never had to pay for any colonoscopy I have gotten....ridiculous

I'd be calling the insurance company to get that straightened out.

sounds like labs did not get filed on your insurance. does the invoice show an insurance payment?

If you have the same insurance as before then I would check with the insurance. I know for a while there, there was something going on with Obamacare colonoscopy coverages. If it was preventative then it was supposed to be covered for free but if they actually did something (like maybe biopsies or polyp removal) then they didn't call it preventative anymore and it wasn't free. I don't know if they ever got that mess straightened out or not.
