Hello
I have been reading everyone's posts but haven't had the guts to post anything yet. I have been diagnosed with UC in 2011 but I know I've had it way longer. I just had a colonoscopy on June 18th where they found a tubulovillous adenoma that was 2cm. It had low grade dysplasia. That really scared me! It was removed and area was marked tested and the surrounding area was tested biopsied and there was no cancer or dysplasia. I'm 35 I didn't start taking meds for UC till January of this year everyday I started getting really sick and fatigued, and my body just hurt all the time. Started taking 2grams of pentasa a day and that really helped cause in this last colonoscopy they couldn't see UC. It's still there since IBD showed in biopsy. I smoked for 20 years, took diet pills for 15 which make you go more and am a recovering drug addict been sober for 10 years. On June 20th I quit smoking and taking diet pills. My body and mind are in shock! I've always had severe anxiety and it started getting higher after taking pentasa but I could manage it. After quitting everything I really couldn't handle so I'm on lialda now 2.4grams, multivitamins, probiotic, and .25mg Xanax ONLY if needed.
I have a repeat colonoscopy in September to look at my sigmoid colon where the adenoma was found and my doctor will take the extra biopsies 55 of them or however they do it.
I guess I'm just scared and I'm scared of what my poop looks like mucus how much mucus or is that blood? Do I have other problems too?
I have 15 year old twins and what are the odds of them getting UC?
I guess that's it.
Thanks
