Now that I'm on azathioprine I feel really nervous when the sun's out. I obviously wear sun protection all the time, and I've bought lots of maxi skirts so I can be covered but still feel vaguely summery... but is that really all I can do? It seems silly that the only ways I can protect myself is by common sense precautions that ordinary people would take anyway. My sun cream is just the standard one from shops.
Is there anything else I can do/sun protecting tips that others have found helpful? Or is this literally it?

Other than the obvious of actually staying out of the sun all you can really do is cover up with a high spf sunscreen. I never really worried too much about
sun exposure while on aza, but probably because I was never much of a sun guy anyway. I think as long as you aren't going to the beach everyday and actually trying to get a tan you should be alright. It's good to be a little cautious though but I wouldn't worry too much:)

Take astaxanthin. It might help you not get burned. Ive been on aza/6mp for four years and im a sun worshipper. I sunbathe sometimes for two hours. The only sunscreen i wear is coconut oil mixed with carrot seed oil but thats only if im at the pool.

I'm out in the sun all of the time and I get burned, whatever, I don't worry. You don't have to be afraid of the sun now. Take precautions if you plan to spend many hours outside, that's all.
