Entyvio, Prednisone and Blurred Vision

Last Tuesday I stared entyvio and was super excited to start it after the long wait. Unfortunatly I have horrible veins and it took over a half hour, two nurses and three blown veins before I got to start. Getting an IV should not take longer than the infusion itself. Now they want me to think about getting a portacath :( Anyone getting entyvio through a port?

I've been on prednisone since April highest amount being 40mg and even with that did not see all my symptoms go away. It reduced blood and urgency but by no means made it disappear this time with prednisone. I am now down to 10mg prednisone (had to taper the moonface and weight gain is killing me). Well for the last three days I have only been having two bowel movements a day and no blood. I know entyvio normally takes time to start working, but I'm hoping this is the beginning good times ahead.

When I have been on prednisone for long periods of time in the past I have had some minimal problems with my vision mostly just having problems when trying to focus when driving at night. The last couple days though I have been having blurred vision during the day as well, I just went over my entyvio packet and see that blurred vision can be a side effect of entyvio as well. Anyone out there on entyvio have this symptom? Should I be worried or am I just overreacting? I know if its just the prednisone then it will go away when I'm completely off it and I've talked about it with my eye doctor when I saw him last year and he didn't seem concerned. I'm only worried that the two drugs together could be causing something worse.

I have no experience with Entyvio. However, lots of experience with predisone!

For me, it caused (still causes, since I'm still on it) Lots of eye pain, blurriness, heaviness, you name it! I went to the eye doctor to check for cataracts and glaucoma (which predisone induces) They did not find either. However, the eye doc told me that predisone does cause all the symptoms I'm having and to just be watchful.

I would see your eye doc, to check things out. Predisone, is a nasty drug!

Ports are only helpful if you have continuous oversight. Going home from the hospital made our docs skittish. My d was always dehydrated. I had to leave the room as they re -stuck her at about # 5, & at # 7, I freaked out. Walked till done.
No eye problems here thru week 10 of Entyvio..Hope the meds kick in soon! My d only made it that far, but no eye issues.
