Remission is possible ! I was diagnosed 4 years ago, and finally feel like a normal person again. I had no remission during that time, meanwhile getting worse all the time. I started on asacol, then onto steroids ( hair loss, moonface, and no better), and finally started humira just over 6 months ago. And my life has changed ! I honestly never believed I would reach this stage. I ended up with pancolitis, living life from one bathroom trip to the next, and having almost daily accidents. I felt like a failure, like a teenager who never manages to pass their exams, and letting everyone down. I started with humira injections once a fortnight. And at first, i thought this would just be the same old story. But my doctor didn't give up and made me start once a week injections. And little by little, things have just got better from there. Today, i actually took my rescue kit out of my handbag and left it at home !! A huge moment for me. I don't know how long this will last, but for now I feel healthy and strong. So please have faith. remission may not be possible for everyone, but I felt like a hopeless case and have actually achieved it.
