Cscope prep with Pico Salex. Started at 8:00am

Hi Everyone,
I'm having a colonoscopy and endoscopy tomorrow morning and took my first dose of Pico at 8:00am. It only took 30-40 mins for my to have my first BM from it. I find that fast. I'm staying home today and my husband will be entertaining the kids taking them in and out.
I'm worried because I've been ill lately and want to get to the bottom if it.

Good luck with the prep and the scope! Let us know how cleaned out you were. I am concerned after pb4 was almost not cleaned out enough for her scope recently. I've been having issues myself with being adequately cleaned out for scopes lately. Ugh, I hate the whole thing ... WHY can't they come up with a better method!!

The last scope I had was 2.5 years ago and I used Pico Salex. I remember looking at the screen and seeing what I thought was me not totally cleaned out-like still still on the side of colon (sorry, ick) but my GI said I was cleaned out so I'm hoping to have the same experience this time.

So far, took first dose at 8am and had 2 pretty decent bm's and a couple other little ones. All watery but little pieces of stool floating around. My last dose will be at 6pm.

My stomach is so hungry it's making gurgling noises.

My scope was one of the best tolerated thus far. I've had 4 now total. The first one 11 yrs ago was by far the easiest and least troublesome but this one was close. I was well medicated.

Results: I honestly hate when they try to talk to you when you're still out if it on Versed. How do they expect you to remember anything?

From GI I was given a strong ppi ( Dexilant) for the GERD. All I can remember him saying about my colonoscopy was that it's very mild and to stay on salofalk oral and enemas every other day. ( need to up date my signature). I have a follow up in 6 weeks. He took biopsies from endoscopy and cscope.

I think it takes a week for ppi's to work fully so I'm hoping to feel better bc I feel pretty poorly each time I eat with the GERD.

Thanks for the support. I am going to discuss the fact that there was inflammation and what I can do to eliminate it completely.

ah, did you had the double whammy upper and lower scopes. Good to hear it went smoothly.

If you still have some rectal inflammation, wondering why your doc suggested every second night enemas and not nightly for a while then to every second night?

Although, some inflammation could be from the clean-out.

Hope the new PPI med helps the GERD...

Looking forward to hearing the results.
