I have heard from doctors that Ulcerative Colitis is a disease that can "come and go" on its own. They indicate that periods of remission can come at random.
Question:
How do they know this? Did someone with Ulcerative Colitis actually try to brave the symptoms without any medication, diet change, supplements, etc. in order to see if they would spontaneously go into remission? I know from experience that my illness has never gone into remission without some kind of action on my part (treatment of some sort). Has anyone actually had a remission occur when they were doing NO TREATMENT AT ALL?
