Is there something I can take for this pain on my right side(under the rib area , moves toward my sides)? I've tried Iberogast, buscopan, pepto bismol, Tylenol, I'm already on a PPI(dexilant) for gerd. I don't see my GI until November. My doctor says it could be IBS, an ulcer in my colon.. She says I should ask for a colonoscopy. If this is an IBS flareup when is it going to go away? What can I take for the pain? One day I'll have diarrhea, the next dAy I won't have any bowel movement, the next day could be solid.. But no matter what, the right side pain stays. I have to redo a test that I did for c diff because I did it incorrectly.

Offhand I would say that you do not have C-Diff but one thing you may not know is that the better acid relievers you take the higher chance you have for getting C-Diff. Unfortunately, stomach acid must kill the C-Diff bacteria so the less stomach acid you have, the better chances you have of getting C-Diff. Sometimes this whole disease has nothing but double edged swords. Don't know what to tell you about
the pain other than I don't think C-Diff has anything to do with it.

Thank you. I have a feeling the increased diarreha may even be caused by PPIs I've been on since March.

I had an issue with D after being on acid reducer for a while. (Fine at first, but problem as time want on) I mentioned to my GI and he said he never heard of that

I had this same issue and the GP said it seemed to be gas and inflammation. Nothing seemed to help the pain go away. I am doing a bit better now overall and it seems to be managed for the moment. What are you taking for management of your UC symptoms?

Even before UC, PPIs gave me soft stool, especially at larger doses. So it could be that.

Elle, post this in the GERD forum also, I am pretty sure that the pain you are experiencing is classic GERD symptoms, but I would ask over there,as someone maybe able to give you more info than I can. I have GERD too and for a long time I had a sharp consistent pain slightly under my right rib cage, so its possible this is what it could be.

I'm wondering that too because the days I don't feel heartburn and acid reflux , I feel the pain on my side . I am already on 60 mg of dexilant I don't know what else they can give me for GERD.

Have you tried seeing a chiropractor that is familiar and experienced with helping people with GERD, this is the approach I taken, if you google Chiropractors and hietal hernia it will give you some information you might want to try.
