Hello everybody, hope You doing good,

I have a question about pain- I have this „somewhere deep inside my rectum-“ pain coming and going. I mean it comes for couple of days and goes for couple of week. When I think I reached total remission, it comes again. It is not sharp or very painful, but it’s here.
Should I see my GI about this or it is just the way it manifests until I reach (hopefully) remission (I‘m only 6 month on meds)? I know I’m going around with kind of similar questions, but I’m still learning to live with this.

What makes you think you have reached total remission? What are your current symptoms? Have you tried going back to using the mesalamine suppository every day?

I think of total remission when I feel no pain.
For now pain is my only symptom of UP- I have one almost formed BM per day (I eat a lot of fiber to avoid constipation) or every second day and also I have slightly elevated lymphocytes, but my family doc says it‘s because of inflammation.
I take suppositories after BM so almost all the time it happens every second day.

If you have elevated lymphocytes that your doctor attributes to inflammation, then you have active inflammation thus no remission.

You can use a suppository every day even if you do not have a bowel movement that day.

Well, she makes a guess it is from inflammation, lymph. are 39% when normal is 37%, she also says it might be my normal level. Anyway, main problem is pain that comes and goes, is it normal with UP, how to get rid of it.

I don't know how bad your pain is but I noticed it before when I was using the suppositories, but never connected the dots. Anyway, I noticed 2 weeks ago after started the canasa suppositories I would again get that dull ache that comes and goes and even when I just moved my leg a certain way so I am guessing and just guessing that it could be the canasa, but its good medicine so I continue to use it. of course the ache as I call it is not that bad and I can live with it.
