Possibly diagnosed with RA today

I saw a rheumatologist a year ago for possible lupus. He said he didn't think I had that so I never went back. I saw him today and explained my recent UC diagnosis and my current symptoms and he thinks I do have RA along with UC. He did Xrays today and I go in Monday for more blood work. I should know more next week. Trying to not be overwhelmed.

You need more extensive testing, and it's a difficult situation to deal with more than one health issue.
Autoimmune loves company, so you having another seems the norm.

Read more about RA, and find out what tests are needed to help confirm it. As well, do the same for lupus...many test results can overlay the possibility but not confirm.

Get copies of ALL your test results.

He ordered a lot of blood work to be done Monday. What other testing should I ask for? When I had the testing done with the possible lupus, my ANA was positive, but he said I didn't have enough symptoms to be diagnosed with lupus as there isn't one test he can do to say yes or no, so they go by symptoms.

ya, I'd pass on the ra thing if I were you - just doesn't sound like a lot of fun - I'd go with something else, like maybe dandruff, or ............ bad hair ;-)

I just started on my miracle CURE for my joint pains (or is it joints pain) - i'll let you know if it works - the only side effect is it makes you look 20 years younger within 3 days = so far after 3 hours, I'm lookin pretty good - so either way, I win !

seriously, I started adding up all the joints that are a pain in the ass (does ass count as a joint - it has 2 moving parts, depending on ....... well you know) and started thinking maybe I have my second AI affliction - whoa !

so we'll see where this all winds up - I sure hope your doc is wrong - most of them usually are :-)

Went in for the blood work this morning and she took 10 tubes! The doctor told me he was running a bunch of test. Guess he wasn't kidding LOL. I hope to have some kind of answers by Wednesday.
