Butyrate - Anyone compared between Cal/Mag and Sodium (Sod/Pot)?

I have been using Cal/Mag Butyrate for over 2 years now. Although I do not see any black and white benefit out of it, I assume its been helping me. IMO, its not the substance to show clear benefit like medications.

I wonder if anyone has compared between Calcium/Magnesium salt vs Sodium (Or Sodium/Potassium) salt of butyrate, to see if there is any difference that they can notice.

I think the general consensus is that the sodium butyrate pills are better for us UCers. It doesnt help that Magnesium is a D causing agent

Personally, it doesn't affect me at all. I have to take Mg-Citrate to counter the constipative effect of Verapamil. Hence the question if anyone noticed any difference.

I take the Cal/Mag version because they are/were cheaper on Amazon. Plus, the UC has a side effect of reducing bone density. So, I figure I could use the calcium...

I've been taking Debutir for almost a year and i think that my remission is only thanks to it and vsl

Good enough for me to notice it. I have stress during the visit to 'feel empty'.

Debutir is Sodium butyrate 150mg. I take 1.2gm of it, still it doesn't cut it. And its not for constipation.

I use Cal/Mg. I saw a pretty significant difference in form when I started taking it.

My UC is the simmering type - flares are never terrible, but the remission is never quite solid either. I thank Butyrate supplements for changing that...I'm proud of my stool now (TMI, I know).
