So, I've been reading about flu vaccines and apparently we have many options this season. The articles below warn against taking flu vaccines containing Thimerosol, a mercury preservative. There are many vaccines that don't contain Thimerosol, but to be safe I asked my doctor and two nurses to please confirm what I'd be receiving when I requested a flu shot today. Luckily the hospital here only offers preservative free vaccines. One of the nurses said they received many complaints about vaccines with preservatives a couple of years ago and since switched to preservative free vaccines.
Also, I read that the new high dose vaccine is associated with more adverse events.
