my awesome and, to be honest, loved, GI Extraordinaire, is leaving me and my delightfully humbled hooter shocked

the thought of someone else having even the teeniest peek at my tender tushy, leaves me crushed I tell ya -

how could he do this ?

he's not going to far tho - west to the seattle area, where he's been practicing a few days a week for the past 18 or so months - I've known this day was coming, just hoped it would be later -

I wasn't planning on a scope till next spring - but now ......... a Dilemma ! should i try to have him do it before he leaves at the end of December, or just deal with it in may ?

anyway, it sucks - he really, truly is a great guy, and pretty swell doc imo - sad day for sure -

I am sorry to hear that! I will be crushed and freaked out when that happens. Sorry Soy! As for your question, if you get them every 5 years or more than get it now, if you get them more often then just wait and break in the new dr with your special tush! 😆😷

ya, like I said, the good thing is he's not very far away - and we go to seattle on a regular schedule, so I can probably book an appt with him over there -

Finding a good and honest GI in this day and age of pharmaceutical debauchery is rare. If you liked him, I imagine him to be not just a rare gem of a GI, but also a fantastic human being.

well, I'm pretty sure he comes from your side of the pond sg, so it is understandable that he's such a great man - you're Italian, right ?

Jeez I live in Seattle. I'm totally not impressed with my current GI who sent me packing after finding a 2 cm patch of UC, said basically normal exam see you in 10 years. I fell through the cracks and ended up with a huge flare and a lot of un-medicated suffering 4 months of agony before I could even get an appt to see her again.

Where/with whom will he be practicing Soy?

not sure yet zenny - I know he has been working some at Swedish, but I don't know for sure what's he's doing after he leaves Yakima -

I am planning on getting as much info out of them as I can today - don't know with all the hippo laws and regs how much they can tell me -

i'll be sure and let you know what I find out -

honestly, he's the only GI I've seen since my dx - maybe he's not so great to other folks, but because I'm so awesome, I get special treatment ;-)

right now, the biggest unknown for me is that little detail called insurance ! I'm gonna work on that today too -

Soy,

I moved with my GI to his new practice but he only went 4 miles away but I'd travel much further to stay with him. It's nice to have a GI that you're comfortable with and can work with. It's really important.

Will it cost you more to have the scope this year or next year at his new practice? Out of pocket expenses, co-pays, etc. Will the new practice participate in your insurance plan?

ya ks, it's gonna cost me - my wife works for the hospital here in yakima that he works for, so coverage is 100% -

in seattle, it's gonna cost me a butt-load shocked

I'm just not ready to have him peek at the pooper quite yet, as I've been doing well and don't wanna take any chances - as of today, they weren't sure if they could squeeze me in before he bails anyway -

i'll find out more Friday, but I'm probably just gonna hold off -

at one visit, my first ever GI (great guy) said, "i have to tell you something"
i looked up (i may or may not have been crying about something - who knows, i was on pred)
"i'm moving to ohio"
aaaaand i burst into tears. and we hugged. also, to add insult to injury--OHIO! ;)

i know! haha

went through a few duds (one alright doctor, two crappy) and now have a great one. although last time i saw the physician's assistant instead and she made me uncomfortable. kept passively accusing me of using a tanning bed. i love the doctor himself though!

I've been lucky so far *knock on wood*. My GI of 18 years is still with me but I have a feeling that if I had to find another GI that I would probably get banned from his office for knowing more then him or her lol (you know..the whole ego thing) I'm sorry you lost your doc :(
