Hi all any help would be appreciated.
I was diagnosed in 2010 with ulcerative colitis by July I had a total colectomy and ileostomy formation after trying various medications and inflixmabs not of this work.
I had a J-pouch made in may 2011 which took quite a while to heal and had my ileostomy reversed on January 2012. between my first and last surgery I got an infection which I needed a drain put in my stomach to drain and also had fits due to dehydration. I was kept in bed in hospital quite a while and had to learn to walk again after been in a wheelchair and alot of physio.
I was then diagnosed with gallstones in may 2013 and was told I needed another operation to remove the gallbladder. I was on the waiting list and in the mean time got pancretitas where a stone got stuck in the tube to the pancreas. I eventually had my operation a year after been diagnosed. Just my luck I got rushed back into hospital 3 days later as I had an extra bile duct that they did not know about and had bile leaking into my stomach. I was rushed back to theatre and had an internal wash and drain put in my stomach to drain any bile that was left.
I am now recovered quite well but suffering with alot of trapped wind. I can not pass wind unless I am sat on the toilet and that doesn't work some time. I have tried peppermint tablets, buscapan and ginger tablets but I am losing hope at the moment doctors don't know what to give me. Has anyone else got any suggestions? I am taking painkillers just to ease the pain and don't really want to carry on with them all the time.
thanks Louise
