Hi fellow poopsters. I recently returned to remicade after a brief trial of humira (stopped due to side effects). I began having cramping after my last humira injection the first week in October. I've now had 2 remicade infusions and still have cramping which was previously abolished with remicade. I have some other symptoms but nothing like a vicious flare. My question is has anyone done something similar with their meds and what was the outcome for you?

Usually isint done for Remi due to fear of antibodies to it. Have you been tested for that?

I thought someone recently posted a study that showed a return to Remicade after a period of time could have positive results.

I am curious about this as well. I've been on Entyvio since early August, but I haven't made a whole of progress (or any at all), so I'm wondering what my next options are. I did well for ~2 years on the standard dose of Remicade.

For those where Remicade was working in the past, why did you change in the first place?

My IV access was becoming challenging. Not impossible just challenging because I had a blood clot in one arm and was limited to the other arm. My GI doc suggested humira. I ended up with almost immediate neuropathy in my feet and after my last injection, my cramps returned. I curse the day I stopped remicade and hope I experience full remission again.

It looks like it's written by Prometheus but even still could be valuable to a GI with a patient in this type of situation.

EDIT:
It's probably best to just print the PDF and hand to your GI on the next visit as it contains information on how to use the Prometheus tests to best predict the outcome of restarting etc etc. that he/she may or may not be familiar with.

My daughter returned to Remicade a few months ago after being off it for a year. Her dosing is more frequent for now than it was in the past.
She had stopped it due to other symptoms from the med. Right now it seems to be working..

Please note that she began methotrexate at this time, coming off years of 6mp.
