Azathioprine plus Apriso--Fatigue?

My flare is totally under control since a 10-week round of prednisone. I just finished the prednisone (tapering slowly) about a week ago. I'm currently on Apriso and azathioprine. I am just SO tired all the time, and am wondering if either or both of these drugs have caused this reaction in anybody else? I mean, I can sleep 10 hours at night take an hour nap during the day and still feel tired. Not sure if it's just old age kicking in or if it relates to the drugs. I've never been what you would call a high-energy person, but this is getting ridiculous. Thinking maybe I need more exercise. I got out of the habit of walking while I was flaring (didn't want to get too far from a bathroom--LOL), but it's hard to muster up the energy to increase my activity level. I work three days a week (I'm 64), and take care of a 5-year-old granddaughter most other days, but that's about it. Could it be a side effect of the Azathioprine? I take it at night--the apriso, of course, in the AM.

I get pretty horrible fatigue on Aza, although I'm also on Prednisone at the moment so it could be that too. Is there any chance you could be anaemic after the flare-up? That's a killer for tiredness, might be worth looking into. Good luck!

I really sympathise with you there. I've been in a flare for about half a year now which has also meant that I haven't been able to exercise or eat as well as I'd like to. it is hard to know what's caused by tablets and what's just lack of energy. Fingers crossed for a better year for both of us!

Should have scrolled down before I asked the same question. I was always a very high-energy person, though. This is not me. I see the doctor and get blood work on Tuesday. Maybe I will find out something.

I'm at the end of the prednisone taper. Also taking Imuran and by no means in remission.
