Petition to get caregeenan out of food.

Hate to be a Debbie downer here but, do you really think that a petition is going to change the FDA's recommendation? Most people going down this road think that the FDA has been bought and paid for my Monsanto and Big Pharma. If that is actually true then the petition isn't going to change that. If the FDA won't listen to the sources mentioned in the petition, why would you think that they would pay any attention to the petition itself? I think the best route is to make people as aware as possible of this and provide information on foods, etc. available that do not have carrageenan in them, such as the other thread on this subject.

The list is on the same website as the petition. I am non-dairy and it's really a chore finding nut/soy milks without carrageenan...luckily my fave brand (So Delicious unsweetened Coconut) recently excluded it.

Organic valley took it out of their soy milk, but it is still in their half and half and all of their single serve chocolate milk boxes (my kids like them but are no longer allowed to have them). I was one of the many thousands who requested they do so
I have been writing to stoneyfield for years to get them to take it out of their kids yogurt products. No luck there, but they always write a nice note thanking me for my input...

When I was first diagnosed I was pleasantly surprised that most of the flavors of Haagen Dazs ice cream were clean and free of carrageenan. It is a mainstream brand that does better than most alternatives. If only they would use organic milk or milk without Bovine growth hormone, (also called bGH, rbGH, bST, or bST).
