HELP

Ok, so I've been flaring on and off mostly on for over a year now. I take 2 lialda a day, for a brief period of time during the past year I was on apriso instead of the lialda because of insurance issues. I am now back on 2 lialda day. Everytime I start to flare I start prednisone 5mg daily but within a few weeks after stopping the prednisone or sometimes before I've even fully tapered off I start experiencing symptoms of a flare again and the flare comes back full force within a few day- weeks. I tried enemas instead of the prednisone, no luck. This time I was doing really well but as I was tapering when I got to 3mg I thought I noticed some symptoms again so I started the enemas again as well. Then the bleeding started but I was still not having diarrhea, so I'm not sure if the bleeding was from hemorhoids or my uc. But I decided to try anew probiotic I had been trying Phillips colon health for a few weeks but didn't think it was helping so I tried digestive advantage, and almost immediately the diarrhea and cramping and all of it started. Needless to say I immediately stopped taking those, But this was the same time I was tapering to 1mg of prednisone, so I'm not sure if the digestive advangtage caused my issues or what but I'm hoping somebody can give me some insight before I go back to my GI.

the probiotic that caused D should be looked at more closely. The strains obviously have some bang in you colon. Many people find thy have to taper on to probiotics (even VSL#3) to avoid triggering the immune response.

Also adding more Lialda seems reasonable.

I was on 4 lialda at one point but my GI put me back on 2 after I had been on a different medicine for a while I'm not sure why. But he had said if I had a problem tapering of the prednisone again this time he strongly recommended 6mp but I'm a little nervous about trying that because i don't know much about it.
