I use both and I say the both have pros and cons as far as usage goes. Enemas REALLY help my colon calm down. However, they're uncomfortable to use, they're big and bulky and awkward to travel with. I get intense cramps for about
45-an hour after I use it. I lay in bed clutching my guts trying to ignore the loud audible violent gurgles. Also, enemas are really expensive, REALLY expensive (so expensive it shocked even my pharmacist). Suppositories are much easier to use, they insert instantly and I suffer no cramps, I've even used them during the day and walk about
with no issue. My biggest CON to the suppositories is the horrible oily gas that occurs the morning after. It's loud, it's embarrasing, it's impossible to hold in. I need to force farts out over the toilet before I feel confident going to work. The suppository ingredient that holds it together is greasy and oily when it melts and one can never trust an after suppository use fart, never! (Unless you've already pooped it out then you're fine again). I think the suppositories are useful when there's inflammation only in the very end of the rectum, I like them for maintenance but as soon as I feel things going south I reach for the enemas.
Mmmmm enemas, the med I love to hate
