Hello,

I just got back from the hospital today, Sunday. I had the j-pouch connected and was wondering if anyone can let me now what to expect for the recovery. I have a boy that is turning 2 on March 14th and was wondering if I would be able to go.

any advice or thoughts would be great

I think you would get a better response on the ostomy forum. Most people here haven't had surgery. March 14th is soon so you will still be recovering but you may be okay to go. Really a question for people who have been there. I've heard people say the healing process can go on for quite a while but I don't think that means you're 100% limited right after takedown, things just may not be ideal.

Why not? You can't lift things over 15lbs for a while and you can't drive if you are pain narcotics. I wouldn't eat anything crazy either but you should be good.

How are your current symptoms?

It was back to life as usual for me two weeks after my takedown surgery. Chances are you'll be fine. Maybe you'll still be tired. How are you feeling now?

Do you have to have help after sugeries or can you take care of yourself?
