You could try the B.R.A.T. diet - this is the bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast diet. When life is going along fine this diet sounds so ridiculous. But when a full-blown flare hits with cramps, low-grade fever, loss appetite, chronic diarrhea, and fatigue this diet can be a savior. Even though I'm not big on huge brown spots on my bananas these are the best ones to eat when your gut has gone nuts. White rice, with maybe just a tiny bit of olive oil and a pinch of salt.
